HOOTIE AND THE SHIT TU
Trev, the pub just up from there, is that called the Five Arches? Is it still there? I used to go in it before the match many years ago, but it was ages ago and just wondered if the pub was still going? theowlsman
Stones Brewery built the Forty Foot which was named after the stretch of fishing in Lincolnshire where they held there annual angling competition. The famous Forty Foot drain. Makes sense that. The pubs from miles around would send teams to compete in competitions, the locals would arrive in a charabangs, then later coaches. The Sunday fishing trip was looked forward to all week by hard working lads. Talking about fishing, I must get my gear sorted. I have a match tomorrow, a qualifier for a National teams of three comp.
