brett11
Both phil neville and darron gibson are out, got a feeling barkley may get a recall soon.
Guest wilyfox
gonna happen sooner or later; we were hardly gonna get him for the season...

Guest Part-Time Owl
They're both defensive midfielders and, as I'm sure you've noticed, that is not his strong point. May drop Fellaini back deeper and play him ACM but I have my doubts. Sounds like Ross had a quiet game today - bypassed by a more direct approach? WayneTheOwl
To be honest despite his talents, he doesn't bring stability to the midfield, Lines may well get his chance.
Guest wilyfox
we seem to get more from Barkley in a 5-man midfield. in a 442 with Semedo alongside him, perhaps he's required to be more disciplined without the freedom to roam.
Rick - Norfolk Owl
Didn't realise he was playing - shocker
Ronnie Starling
Hope so. Not good enough more poor performances than good.
sheffield_dave
Be a real shame if we had to play the superior McCabe instead.
Essix Blue
It was mentioned last week that perhaps our midfielders aren't good enough to play 2 in the middle

Would agree with that entirely, in fact I would say that he can only play in a free role, no defensive side to his game whatsoever. MASSIVE talent but needs to be played in the ACM role in an attacking 4-5-1 formation. He has been schooled in the everton and england set-ups to collect the ball from the centrebacks and distribute, I think he's much better in the final third as he takes too many risks when playing deep. happy bunny
he's not really cutting it in the champ, never mind the prem we might be stuck with him
Wolfmanjack
You obvioulsy didn't hear what Giddings said about Barkley then. The rumour being that if he plays any more forst team games for Everton he's due a MASSIVE pay rise, and in the current climate they can't afford to pay him anything else. Ronnie Starling
If Barkley was as good as some on here think then he would have been playing for the under 21s the other night. Going on his performances so far he would struggle to get in our under 21s

owls maniac
He's a teenager who is still learning the game. Don't be surprised if he has a few off games along the way. That's the drawback when you go for academy prospects.
