Hello friend of great Sheffield Wednesday F.C.. We are italian fans of OWLS. We are fans club of FBC Saronno 1910, hystorical italian club blue and white shirt born in 1910 ( one of the 50 first italian football team ) . The "first step" of Football Club Saronno was made in Sheffield! and exactly through Sheffield Wednesday, as Fbc's first president - famous italian enterpreneur Gaetano Gianetti ( Italian manufactory of steel ) - took very first team's uniform in Sheffield, as we know as a gift from Sheffield Wednesday, some white-blue color shirts. With these shirts our grand-fathers started to play football in Saronno reaching first division in those glorious years, and winning "Coppa del Re", the King's Cup, time and time ago something like "League Cup".

In March 2007 we visited and spoken to Sheffield with Mr. Colin Wood to establish a twinning. To date, however, we have had feedback from the SWFC. We have also seen the game ended Owls-Wolves 2-2 and we have become fans of your team.

Inn recent days there has been talk both in Saronno of the possible joint venture with the SWFC, the management of FBC Saronno 1910: the president Mr Vito Tramacere, the Managing Director Mr Marzio Buscaglia, and the responsable of sport of our municipality Mr Paolo Strano, are happy to possible link with great SWFC.

In January 08 we return in Sheffield for derby SWFC vs SUFC. In occasion of '08 visit, the general manager of FBC Saronno 1910 came with us in Sheffield, for continue directly trough two team, the possibility of twinning with SWFC, and if possibile speak with Colin Wood and Sean McAuley ( academy director ) . We would organize century cup ( in occasions of FBC Saronno 1910 , 100 years old, ) with friendly match with Milan, Internazionale, SWFC , and FBC Saronno to play in Saronno ( in '08, '09 and 2010 ) and extend the collaboration to all teams of SWFC.

you can visit our website www.forzasaronno.org ( fans site with photo of our trip at hillsborough in march 2007) and www.fbcsaronno.it ( official web site ).

sorry for my english

Sad to hear about Saronno being no more, having had good links with the Owls in the past.

As an aside I have a couple of Italian friends originally from Naples but now live in the UK - I have introduced them to the massive Owls last season going to some of the games and they have now adopted Wednesday as their second team (after Napoli).

The maddened one is bringing the good times back to Wiltshire....Tommy Miller and Alan Navaro being added to the squad.

Also Jay Mcevely from Barnsley.........who i like alot.

Anyway on the Italian theme it reminds me of my mate Luigi who spent 6 months saving for an expensive pair of Armani shoes....£500 they cost and shone like glass.

On a date with a nice brunette he danced and whispered in her ear.....you are wearing red knickers...how do you know she said coyly....i can see them in the shine of my new Armanni shoes he replied with a twinkle in his eye.

The next night he is dancing with a rather dashing blonde...you are wearing green knickers he says with a grin....taken aback she demands to know how he knew....we danced and i saw the reflection in my lovely shiny Armani shoes says Luigi looking down at them lovingly.

On the third night he dances closely to a bronzed beauty.......suddenly Luigi frowns and looks worried...he whispers in her ear worriedly.....you aint wearing any knickers......no,no,no she whispers with a knowing wink....but how did you know that.....phew says Luigi thank god for that.....for a moment i thought i had a crack in me new Armani's

PS....no Italians were hurt in the making of this joke....and certainly no hurt intended

Hudds fans dont rate him......class at Ipswich i thought.

On a more sombre note i have just heard that ex Town player and QPR legend Alan Mcdonald passed away this morning aged just 48.

Sad news to say the least.

Dear All, nice to meet you again.

Before all congratulation for promotion in championship, we have follow last season every week, and we are very happy for SWFC promotion.

in Italy last season we had opportunity to see only 3 matches on tv , 2 steel city derby and charlton-swfc.

Our relationship with the swfc fans still continue, the sheffield friends who met in last 4 years are very special, and we will hope our contacts be continue in the future,

Unfortunely FBC Saronno 1910... actually doesnt existe, for this reason is impossible organize meeting and stages for our young teams.

We hope to FBC Saronno restarting as soon as possible to renew the relationship.

we never forget the beautiful time spent in Sheffield,

"UP TO OLWS.. we'll follow you forever "

Best Reg.
