European experience

Recommended Posts

Think a key part of why CC is doing so well is his experience in Europe.

How many managers have come here & said the fan pressure on players is too much? Say it often enough & players start to use it as an excuse themselves.

We've never had a European manager. Every manager we have had recently, Wednesday is as big as it gets for them fanbase wise.

CC comes with a pedigree of managing in scenarios with ten times the fan pressure. Really toxic & intimidating atmosphere & club status in Europe on the line.

The task he has with us, as big as it is, isn't as high pressured as what he's had to deal with. He's probably enjoying it which is why we see him so relaxed in interviews.

There's a reason we did so well vs Newcaslte & Arsenal. Big game pressure is something CC thrives on. And you can use that as a possible reason for our defeats to the likes of Rotherham, MK, Bristol, Charlton & Shrewsbury. Complacency when faced with easier opponents. Everyone has a weakness & that may be CC's right now.

Flying you can't say we're complacent against the bottom teams and that's his failing when you consider we've beaten nobody in the top 5

We've only lost to those who are the most likely to go up automatically though.

Nor have we played badly in any of those games, whilst the defeats to lower table/relegation fodder have been abysmal performances.

Thus the complacency theory.
