Busmansholiday
I remember the '66 FA Cup final and Eustace jumping over the ball to let Everton in for the winner. Big Sam coined the phrase "if in doubt, hoof it out", something our current defenders might like to practise instead of handing the ball to the opposition, Eustace style. Guest Hornsby
At last, positive. Hero. Recognition we are desperate for top scouts and structure to support them. Let's find next Tomey or Watkins, at two bob. Start at Keepmoat.
shezzas left peg
If the old boys been watching plenty of local football, it may be a good shout as long as we can trust his judgement. We missed out on both Hogan and re signing Vardy when they were playing locally at lower league level. Maybe not a bad idea from TP.
@owlstalk
Id also add that the younger scouts have hardly covered themselves with achievement in recent years Couldnt see Sam Ellis recommending a broken leg in two places Chey Dunkley can you? In those days there was no subs., so Vic played the full 90 mins. with this injury, knowing that it would rule him out of a potential final spot. In the final Sam was not the reason for our defeat, a certain Gerry Young was the culprit when he allowed the ball to go under his foot so that a certain Dereck Templeton raced through to score the winning goal. ( after we were winning 2-0 ) The only victory we had that day was that we were the first losing team to do a lap of honour in front of their fans after losing the final !! Even though we lost on the day, the homecoming reception for the team was outstanding, something our present day supporters could learn from !!! What do you think ??
