In other news, Sheffield In Lockdown

Recommended Posts

All this new development would make no difference to me, still wouldn't want to visit the place. Car parking charges prohibitive, policed by over zealous wardens. Beggars, homeless people on almost every street corner. City centre still fails to attract top end retailers, charity shops/betting shops still prevail.

The approach to Sheffield City Centre these days.

Bright, modern, safe.

And trees for @room0035

Do you know where the Steel for the barrier came from.

Which do you think

a) a city built on tradition of producing Steel

OR

b) Norway.lol

Still doesn't change the fact that Sheffield's fast becoming fantastic

The new buildings are beautiful, and the place it clean and tidy now

Nothing to hate in our city centre anymore really. It's come on leaps and bounds!

Brilliant the diverse culture of beggers and doorway sleepers your welcome to it

And this is what I am trying to say we need to invest in the city not just tart up the building and build lots of apartment blocks.

Sheffield currently offers nothing for business to come here and this is what will make or break the city, the infrastructure is a complete joke. For anyone working in Sheffield in rush hour one accident cripples the city.

People want a green city centre that's environmentally friendly but then want to take their petrol guzzling, smoke producing cars there.

The City Centre won't BE retail apart from the retail quarter

People need to really let go of this idea that the city centre should be shopping when the high street in every country is dying.

People shop online.

City Centres will be for living in moving forward.

Living in apartments, with streets like Fargate for bars, restaurants, cafe's

Forget shops/retailers. That's not what city centres are for anymore. It's not the 1970's

Just ONE tiny tiny example here for you.

Do you know what this building is opposite the train station?

(the one with new trees around it)

It has a great facade but still an underlying belly

The homeless situation is a situation for every single city and town to overcome.

It's not unique to Sheffield nor should homeless people be used as something to mock. I spend a lot of time with Sheffield's homeless people and they're humans that need help not mockery.

Are you walking around the city at the moment can you tell me what is producing more smog the cars or the out of date public transport network.

Invest in a new electric bus fleet, making public transport zero carbon, this will bring jobs to local people as well as regenerating the city in a positive way. The £millions it would cost would probably be the same as the new building for the HSBC cost at the top of the moor.

We have a city built on water so why don't we use it to generate our electric. No instead we have other peoples waste sent to the incinerator to burn creating more polutions.

We could be the first big city to be carbon neutral using our water ways to produce all the electric we need.

It didn't

There might have been one on that site but this building has never ever been a steel firm

It did because my mother worked there

You keep saying this and repeating it as if it's true

How many times has this actually really ever happened exactly?

I work in Sheffield in normal time every single day except when the kids are on holiday and the traffic is lighter.

All that out of date public transport polluting the air

Keep trying/trolling

Youre banging out enough posts that sooner or later ONE of them MIGHT be actually correct eventually
