Jose Gomes was in charge when he went there. I think I read somewhere that he'd been an admirer of Joao for a while.
Rogerwyldesmullet
Lest it be forgotten, the time we mullered Arsenal .... the last time we worried the Heeley Shufflers Lucas was the man! I wish him well. Not quite sure what I think of Reading though. Froze my nadgers off last time I was there for a 0:0 a couple of years ago. Guest Kagoshimaowl
Money wise it was an excellent deal. I’d still prefer him to Nando, Winnall, Nuhiu and yes even Rhodes. I’m hoping Jordan has turned a corner but the jury is out. I believe Joao would have been a fixture under Monk.

It's far too coincidental that two blokes on a message board know so much about ironing. Sadly no WSO... Though thanks for the complement.. "You can never know too much about ironing" is a phrase I constantly remind my lovely (poor ironer) wife Rowenta.. And our lovely two lads Richard and Murphy ....

DIPPS_S.W.F.C
It was toothgate that did it for me,when he started crying, had everything until that moment then just seemed to lose it all in a heartbeat.... Seriously tho Good luck to him,he's got it but,its just how he applies it...

Talented but inconsistent if Lucas could nail it every game he would be a £20 million player. Sadly he doesn't its more like 1 in 4. So a good deal for us but one which could have turned out very well for Reading if only Joao could find form and consistency. This. We got good money for Joao because he was very inconsistent. However, when he is on it and if he ever finds that consistency he will be incredible. We do miss him at times and I do hope this is one area (a Pacey forward) we address in January.
