Guest
Heard mixed reports, he’s capable of a few goals at this level , consistency and application are his problems

Philb125
I’m sure back in the summer there were a few bemoaning us selling him and hugely confident that not only would it come back to haunt us but he was our most complete forward.
bigthinrob
Just your standard fickle, football fan response. Few goals & he'll be the best thing ever. I don't think there's any surprises to be had re Joao, I reckon we all knew his capabilities but equally knew his limitations. Decent player for the likes of Reading to be fair. ZicoSterland2
At todays market prices 5million was pretty fair. Talented but inconsistent if Lucas could nail it every game he would be a £20 million player. Sadly he doesn't its more like 1 in 4. So a good deal for us but one which could have turned out very well for Reading if only Joao could find form and consistency.
Inspector Lestrade
Can't understand why he choose Reading of all places. Money I guess.
poite
Genuinely mean this. Id completely forgotten we even had him to sell to them
Mike Hunt
Thing is though Monk would probably have turned him into the player he could be
Beholder
I was always an admirer but he was far too inconsistent. Tuned out to be an excellent deal for us.

Perhaps he didn't have much choice? I can't imagine the queue of clubs wanting to spend £5m on him was too lengthy.
theowlsman
Change his name by deed poll to Paulo Wanchope, and you’ve got a helluva player on your hands though.

Mr. Chow
Madine went for 6m, money talks. glad we sold him off, didn’t turn up most games and looked like her just couldn’t be arsed and sulked a lot
asteener1867
Joao will be lucky if Reading fans show him the same patience Owls fans did....Too inconsistent and obviously no signs of it changing
