Swiss Toni Posted June 28, 2017 Share Posted June 28, 2017 The responsibility of a captain is to be vocal, lead by example and take the game by the scruff of the neck when needed. Isn't it coming in soon that only a captain can speak to the referee? If so then that means it's got to be an outfield player. Tom Lees is not vocal enough for my liking. Sam Hutchinson is the best candidate out of who's at the club already. I'd be interested to see who we bring in over the Summer who can fill that role. Look back over the last 2 years at threads at the start of the season claiming they want Loovens replaced. I love Hutch but you need a cool head as captain. Lees is a bit reserved for me and Westwood is too far removed from most of the action. I'd stick with Loovens myself - if he's on the bench, I like the idea of Wallace as replacement skipper, actually. I bet he could get inside the ref's mind by half-time...
