areNOTwhatTHEYseem
I’m guessing most people are familiar with the game ‘six degrees of separation’, or its film-based cousin, ‘six degrees of Kevin Bacon’? Well, here comes… The rules are really simple: Name two players, one of whom plays, or has played, for Wednesday. Other posters will then attempt to link these two players using the least number of connections possible. A connection is made when two players have been at the same team (club or national team) at the same time. Connections can only be made between players (current or retired), not coaches, managers etc… There are an infinite number of ways to connect two players – the aim is to do it in the fewest steps possible! For example: Kieran Lee and Thierry Henry Kieran Lee was at Manchester United with Alan Smith. Alan Smith was at Leeds United with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was at Middlesbrough with Ray Parlour Ray Parlour was at Arsenal with Thierry Henry… …meaning there are only three degrees of separation between Kieren Lee and Thierry Henry! All I’d say is that it helps if there’s at least a slim chance of us being able to connect the two players you suggest in fewer than six steps, plus when you answer it would be helpful to explain the connections like in the example above. OK, here are a couple to get you started: Tom Lees and Gareth Bale Keiren Westwood and Tom Huddlestone

areNOTwhatTHEYseem
Franz Carr and Messi. I've always considered the two very similar players in ability and height. It would be good to link them. UTO Franz Carr was at Aston Villa with Savo Milošević Savo Milošević was at Espanyol with Maxi Rodriguez Maxi Rodriguez played for Argentina with Lionel Messi ...who would have thought there'd only be two degrees of separation in that one!? areNOTwhatTHEYseem
Zico and bywater Zico was at Udinese with Massimo Mauro Massimo Mauro was at Napoli with Gianfranco Zola Gianfranco Zola was at Chelsea with Frank Lampard Frank Lampard was at West Ham with Stephen Bywater... ...how are there only three degrees of separation between these two!? Right, we need some truly bonkers suggestions, otherwise we're getting nowhere near the six degrees of separation suggested!
areNOTwhatTHEYseem
Right, let's kick things up a notch. If Zico and Stephen Bywater involves only three degrees of separation, we need some real challenges... Sam Hutchinson and Romario Glenn Loovens and Pelé Ross Wallace and Raúl If all those three come in at under six degrees of separation, I'll be astounded.
