Matt Young

Recommended Posts

League Two side Carlisle United have signed Owls defender Matt Young on a half-season loan deal.

The 21-year-old will stay with the Cumbrians until 2 May.

Young has impressed at Brunton Park since joining the club on an emergency loan deal in January.

The former Southampton man has made three appearances to date for the Blues, storing 90 minutes under his belt on each outing.

Carlisle boss Keith Curle said: “Matt Young is a player we are very pleased to keep.

“There’s more to come from Matt. He came in and slotted into the right back role really well.

"His application to his profession is fantastic to see and that rubs off on those around him. His willingness to work has been replicated and the more people you have in the dressing room who are like that, the better it becomes."

More good news. Young players (pardon the pun) developing nicely.

i like him.

hope our new found riches dont mean the end for players like Young & Lavery,

i expect both to really make the grade and money or not, it would be a real sickener to see these two go on to big things over the next 5 yrs with other teams & not us.

Im convinced if we are to rise over the next 2 or 3 yrs players like these will be just as important along the way, as the bigger name players we are yet to sign.
