bigrbuk
Having discovered that the players read owlstalk (if they didn't already know), it would seem quite logical that a certain sub-section of the the porcine variety would take this opportunity to sign up and stir. Guest Deleted member
Nanna perhaps we don't like what we see at the moment and want to express our disapointment on the run of bad form, poor performances, poor signings' inept tactics and substitutions . Now if you don't think there is a problem then thats fine, however, it seems you're fast running out of excuses to defend DJ and are therefore trying to deflect the argument away from the subject by accusing people of being blades. If you and your mates want to seek out people and ban them then get on with it,thats how a dictatorship works i believe. By the way did your little trawl through my profile turn up any incriminating evedence against me? No problem at all with anyone speaking of their disappointment - I just struggle to understand the spamming of a message board by Wednesday 'supporters' with post after post of aggressive and almost bordering on hate filled bile about our team, certain players, the Manager and other fans who feel that supporting the team through a bad spell is the right thing to do - only to be labelled a 'Happy Clapper' by you and your clan. Why would someone who is happy to label fans 'Happy Clappers' take offence to the suggestion they might be a Blade? I haven't ever said there is no problem by the way. I'm not enjoying the current run at all - I just don't see the difference that booing the players will make. I don't want to see anyone banned from the Board either. That would make me something of a hypocrite - bearing in mind my own past. I'm certainly not one of them. Finally - I looked at your profile to see how long you'd been a member. Clearly - my post is aimed at those joining the Board recently to spam us all with the constant drivel about our club heading back to the next division down - so it didn't really include you anyway. ReadingOwl
I quite often look at people's profiles by mistake. When you scroll on the IPad, you can 'press' their Avatar, by mistake. Done some right stalking recently.
Guest PrincessWendy
Owlstalk seems to be awash with negativity just now - some of it admittedly understandable - but the sheer voracity of it all is quite disturbing... Amongst the negativity - there appears to be a large number of new, and prolific, posters. It has been suggested that because of the awful start we have made - it has attracted people who want to speak out about and get things off their chest. If that is genuinely the case - welcome aboard. Can I just ask - a genuine question? What is it about this particular run of results that has brought you here now? Why not last season in September? Why not when we were last relegated from this division? And especially - why not when we were nearly relegated to the 4th Division and the club were dragging supporters through the Courts for doing what you are doing now? "Voracity"? Is that a real word. CrosbyKitchens
The negativity is fine and understandable. Its the abusive nature that's the problem. There's people being called all sorts of names. Its pathetic.

Good post some bad feelings running high on O/T at the moment, is D/J such a rubbish manager all of a sudden ? Lets just give him time and M/M will decide what is right when the time comes. Dick_Turpin
"Voracity"? Is that a real word. Bless you HRH Wendy vo·raci·ty (-rs-t), vo·racious·ness (-rshs-ns) n. Synonyms: voracious, gluttonous, rapacious, ravenous These adjectives mean having or marked by boundless greed: a voracious reader of history; a gluttonous consumer of fine foods; a rapacious acquirer of competing businesses; a politician ravenous for power. Ferocity would have been better but regardless of that I have no idea whether these new posters have an "agenda" or are Blades posing as one of us - which is a bit of a sore point with me because I got accused of all sorts of things because my views differed from those of some generally prolific posters on certain matters. Despite that I think the ferocity of the attacks on Jones is a bit much. Sometimes you have to hold your nerve - he's done enough in the past, with us and other clubs, to show he's a good manager. And in a run like this there's bound to be a bit of mischief making from the piggies- generally stirring up bother.. Even so to say I'm a bit worried is an understatement. This run has got me mystified. I couldn't go on Saturday so I can't comment on the match but you'd think Hull at home would be the sort of game we should be winning if we're going to make a mark in this League. When we started the season I thought we'd have trouble scoring and be pretty solid. At first it looked like I was going to be totally wrong but sadly I'm now half right - the scoring thing is proving tricky. But BFR's team had a disastrous start in his first full season and sort of pulled it round. The problem with having a bad start is that even if you pick things up if you have another bad run later in the season - like we did at the end of that season - it can become disastrous. But if the atmosphere at Hillsborough and around the club and fans becomes poisonous that isn't going to help at all. And having said all that would anyone be surprised Jones is sacked if we have another one or two bad results. This could go either way but getting on the backs of the players and the manager won't help lift us up the table.

You've looked at my profile as well I see. Which should show you I registered here late May after reading (and enjoying) the board for months. I hope you will also have witnessed my posts in the early days bigging up DJ and the team? Just about every post at the time praising him and the team. This continued up to a few weeks ago until I for one saw very worrying signs of the team impoding/losing its way/the will to win/spirit/you name it so I voiced them on here. It really is pretty pathetic to label those who maybe don't share your views as blades. If DJ turns this one round I will be the first to hold my hands up and say I was wrong. it's called being honest and accepting you were wrong. What's your pledge should things actually get worse/no better?

Almat
Here's another thing. If I was a devious blade looking to destabilise the club wouldn't I be looking to sign up now and gush about DJ and urge people to keep faith with him in the hope he continues his current run and gets the team relegated? i would imagine the posters on bladesmad would be only too happy with what DJ is doing at the moment. There are always a few ways of looking at things, aren't there? I've supported the club for almost 50 years (my first match was when my dad took me on the Kop as a very young lad and I had a wooden, blue and white rattle FFS. Yes, that long ago). And i can't imagine too many blades going to the Old Den in the 70s to watch us for a Cup game which we lost 3-0 and STILL had to have a police escort out of the ground. How bad were we in that match? The Flying Chip was MOM. :st2: Edited October 8, 2012 by Almat
