Daniel Jones

he was one of the brighter lights in an otherwise poor team performance, his general play was ok, he got his foot in when needed but he was frustrating to watch when he had the ball, he kept running round in small circles then passing it back into defence or the keeper.

People were moaning that Lee should have started because he's a natural right back, yet they also moan that dan jones is starting because our first and second choice left back are out. If not dan jones, then who? Your other options are someone who isnt a natural left back, or julian bennett. Don't let hypocrisy get in the way of a good moan though

Dan Jones was ok yday, but Bolton rarely threatened us down that side. Lee had the bigger job to contend with, defending against Eagles t'other side. our full-backs were steady.

lets take our pathetic hatred specs off for a minute and get serious - Dan Jones had a DECENT game on saturday - was far from being the worst player on the pitch on saturday

its a pity that people have that much contempt for him, that they are first to slate aan average performance - pathetic

I would say he was average defensively but seemed scared stiff whenever given the ball or the chance to get forward. He seems to be a player seriously lacking in confidence at the moment.

I thought he had a decent game as well. Their second goal seemed to be more of a case of three players (Semedo, Jones, Gardner) getting in each other's way and allowing Davies to skip through the lot. Only saw him get caught on the wrong side once (in the corner at the kop end) but he was able to recover from that without it leading to anything.

Better than at Palace but always seems to argue and contest things with ref and linesmen instead of using time when ball is out of play to pick up his man and defend. Twice yesterday from simple throw ins he let his man get in behind him because of this. These things cost goals. Also Lucky not to be booked when for some reason he decided to argue with ref about where a throw in should be taken from instead of just getting on with the game.

To be fair to him, the Lino was waving him further up the field to the place he thought the throwin was, but the ref was sending him back. He's not the brightest lad, so I can see why he would be confused!
