I just wonder if now we have shown what he can do in this division, will Preston not want to have him back to try to do the same for them? I understand he has a year left on his Preston contract !! I hope we do sign him but on a sensible contract not outrageous wages and for anymore than 1 or 2 years max. Wednesdays downfall is giving out big contracts too easily Mellor could probably land a three year contract in the chapionship, so offering him a one year contract here would be laughable. If we are going to go for him, then we will be offering him a proper contract and we will be competing for his services with other clubs. I hope we do. His partnership with Madine is the best strike pairning I've seen us have for some time. With a better midfield they would both be well into 20+ goals next season.
