Guest dunellaowl
Having already lost nine games how many more losses can we account for if automatic promotion remains our target?? personally i think twelve losses in total is probably the limit from here on in, that means just three more defeats from now till the end of the season just wanted to know what the rest of our lot think???? sheffwed1
Looking at previous years I'd say 5 maximum if we are to achieve the playoffs!! I don't think automatic promotion is in our reach now. Dan™
Taking the thread serious for a moment, it depends on how many of the other games are wins, rather than draws. We're lucky with the number of losses we've already had that there haven't been too many draws to go with them - haven't we lost more games this season than every other team in the league bar the bottom three, or something equally as ridiculous? We could still probably make automatics with 5 more losses if we won every other game. [edit] In fact, looking at the current table, we could probably cope with 6, possibly even 7 more losses if we won every other game to still reach the top two. sheffwed1
Maybe so Dan. I'm only going on previous seasons. We're bound to draw the odd game though. I guess the key is beating the teams above us!

i used to be sc_owl
Doesn't really make much sense to look at the position from this angle when we are looking up the table and not down. Minimum points required from the remaining games... 55-60 methinks.
theowlsman
Losing more games shouldn't even be a consideration. We are gathering a handy bunch of players to go on a decent run now. The defence is going to be much improved, and confidence will get higher and higher temptation.

Guest Owl30
The way the league has gone theres only Brighton with a realistic chance of gaining an automatic promotion place, second place is up for grabs for at least 10 clubs.

Eh? How can only Brighton have a realistic chance of automatic? There are two places, so there must be another one at least!!! I know what you meant btw, I'm just being a dickkhead

nevthelodgemoorowl
Why can't the League do for us what they did for Arsenal........say "They're too big a club to be down there, we'll put them in the Premiership" then it would n't matter if we were a few points short. Strange but true, it happened it really did and Arsenal have never been relegated since. Same old Arsenal (& Leeds) always cheating !
pgmetcalf
I'm concerned with how many games we win, not how many we lose.
