Notice the attendance at Arsenal for the rearranged game,  11,262 !

Ticket prices for Arsenal in 1968 were 5 shillings.

£1 in 1968 is worth £21.74 today.

25p (5 shillings) in 1968 is therefore worth just under £5.50. Amazing value.

And yet the attendance was only 11,262!

Get ready for the discussion about how lowering ticket prices would still increase attendances at Hillsborough.

In that 67/68 season Arsenal were average, finishing mid table.

Their attendances were all over the place. 3 days before the replay of the abandoned game against us they played Burnley at Highbury in front of 15K.

In some games they got 45-50K, and 62K against Spurs.

They were 12th in the average attendances table with 31,896 and we were just behind in 13th with 31,461. That's despite finishing 6 places below them in the league.
