I wonder how they will decide which 8 opponents of the 31 you will face, it seems weird to have a combined table when people aren't facing the same teams.  Though i guess Scotland do a similar thing at the end of their season.

I imagine they'll be seeded into 4 pots of strength and you'll play 2 from each pot or something.

It will be a convuluted ranking system, which will end with Real Madrid etc playing a load of absolute no-hopers in the group stage.

So to qualify for the second round, you could either battle through 8 tough games and win the league - or just play the youth team for 8 games, finish bottom, then go full strength for the play off.
