Rogers
Seems Mike Ashley is involved..could be the chance Coventry needed. Getting it’s own stadium after years of renting will be a major boost. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/63656013

kirksandallowl
Isn’t he just interested in buying the ground after the rugby team (wasps?) that own it called in administrators?

Burnsie
If we had Ashely we wouldn't be in league one (or lower before anyone says). FACT 2
SiJ
Mike Ashley takes the stadium then. So, they now have Mike Ashley as their landlord. Good luck with that.

Kind of a wealthier, less likeable Mandaric. He’ll get them on an even keel and sell for a profit. He's bought the ground, they just got taken over by another chap. 1
SiJ
The chap who took over Cov reportedly bid 25 million to take the Ricoh, but Ashley had priority and was able to complete the deal for 17 million.

Ever the pessimist
So straight away Ashley has potentially made £8million. Decent leverage to buy the club (reasonable size, potential) and steady the ship, use as an advertising vehicle and make more cash.

SiJ
@Ever the pessimist My Cov mate has asked you to not make any more predictions about them: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/63858805 Anyway, looks to me like Ashley is forcing the new fella to sell him the club dirt cheap. Guest I Love Coffee
Fantastic power play from Ashley Doug King tried a dirty move to outbid him on the ground and lost in Court - Ashley is asserting his position of control here.
owls maniac
What a ******** mess. Heart really does go out to Coventry fans. They must be sick to death of these vultures picking over their club.

Yeah, I'm not sure how I'd feel about my football club being used as a power play by Mike Ashley. I'm pretty sure he will get what he wants in the end, but still. SiJ
Of course, the other scenario is he doesn't buy the club, but agrees to have them back at the stadium, paying an exorbitant amount of rent, creaming most of the profits from matchday and plastering the inside, outside, scoreboards etc., with Sports Direct logos.
