Seems not

But they can't let him go with no other strikers on the books. If we get 3 new faces in and Beattie spends time with Rhodes and decides he's past it then I'm sure he'll be allowed out somewhere asap.

Very optimistic interpretation this! More we're too broke/in too much trouble with the FA over FFP and transfer embargos to spend any meaningful money. Also:

"picking up several bargains, all of which have scope for profitability. These include: 2019/20 player of the season Dom Iorfa (£300,000), former Cardiff City winger Kadeem Harris (free), Australian international Massimo Luongo (£900,000) and, though he has not performed to the level he has shown previously, Championship play-off winning defender Moses Odubajo (free)"

So:

  • Iorfa - fair enough
  • Harris - done well the first half of the season, anonymous the rest. Previous injury problems to boot means there may not have been too many other suitors, stretching the definition of 'bargain' somewhat. Maybe worth somewhere >£500k.
  • Luongo - not sure if that fee is correct (Transfermarkt suggest more like £1m, maybe add-ons too: https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/massimo-luongo/profil/spieler/181687) but reasonable value for a solid, if unspectacular champo MF. Probably not likely to make a huge killing on him as he's 27 but we live in hope
  • Odubajo - do I even need to comment on this one?!
