Mel Sterland, underrated?

Recommended Posts

Mel Sterland was a fine player, a Sheffield lad who improved to become a great player, Far far better than anyone currently playing at Hillsbrough.

But I find it very disappointing that  that when Ron Atkinson ask him to return to Hillsbrough he preferred to move up the M1 to Leeds...

Still that’s football.

Probably wanted to work with Wilkinson again

For me , Mick Lyons was the most underrated player we have ever had. No nonsense , hard as nails, brave as an Ox  and ive never seen a better leader in a Wednesday shirt.

Yeah, we've had quite a few underrated players in our time but the one that sticks in my mind is Wilf Smith.
