Mel Sterland, underrated?

From memory he started in midfield and was pretty average. The move to right back was the making of him.

Mel Sterland was a fine player, a Sheffield lad who improved to become a great player, Far far better than anyone currently playing at Hillsbrough.

But I find it very disappointing that  that when Ron Atkinson ask him to return to Hillsbrough he preferred to move up the M1 to Leeds...

Still that’s football.

Probably wanted to work with Wilkinson again

He got some stick as a midfielder until he was moved to RB.

Yeah, we've had quite a few underrated players in our time but the one that sticks in my mind is Wilf Smith.
