Guest Sheff Owl
Falcao gone to Man U. Good lord. They still manage to attract top quality players despite being in no european competitions. Baffling how Monaco would let him go for 6mil season long loan fee after paying 50mil for him. Their finances in the poo poo or something? It's the other end Man Utd need to sort out. Falcao was least of their worries really.

Still you dont turn down one of the top strikers in the world on a loan deal! Seems City were interested then pulled out, think he might regret going to Man U right now. Interesting that he'd still choose MU over Arsenal, you have to think Wenger was after him surely... Jamie Paterson on loan doing t rounds. That the ex Burnley forward/winger? They can put a front 5 out of Mata, Rooney, Di Maria, Van Persie and Falcao. With Herrera and Blind as holders. They could have Llera and Taylor as centre halves and still make champions league. Oh i agree yeah you can't turn someone like Falcao down but not even attempting to sort out the defence is a bit criminal. Not sure why Man City pulled out they was planning on selling Negredo to Valencia and bringing in Falcao, they even had a plane waiting for Falcao in case. If that was the case then why do the top teams spend good money on top defenders. Reminds me of Spurs when Ardiles played 5 attacking players and got the boot before Christmas. No doubt Falcao is a great signing but they had the other 4 against a Burnley side that Chelsea ripped apart, the will also need to be able to defend. Who do you see them finishing above to make the top 4?

Financial fair play and a reduced Champions League squad size could have influenced City's decision not to see it through. Man Utd have a far greater turnover and lower wage bill than City and Falcao is on a fair whack tax free at Monaco.

Guest
Wenger busy today managing a team for the Pope, no joke. It will be as bizarre as ever if Arsenal fail to move for a striker today. Sannogo is clearly not good enough for a title challenging team, Podolski's best work is not done as a central striker and nor is Sanchez. If Arsenal would have moved for a loan for Falcao then you have to think he would have chosen them above ManUre for one season with Champions League football. Have to think that Arsenal's wage structure policy prevented the possibility but they have to get someone in.

Arsenal and Liverpool, Uniteds squad is ridiculously strong, they'll come good, if they had a good defence I'd have them down as runaway favorites tbh
