Because "most of us" (i presume by that you mean some of the same Owlstalk football experts who thought our back five of Grant/Simek/Wood/Beevers/Spurr was worth £20 million and Reda Johnson should play as a holding central midfielder) can see (from five appearances...all of which i'm sure EVERYBODY on Owlstalk has seen live...rather than just hearing from a mate that he didn't play well and deciding that he's crap as a result) that he is rubbish already? sorry but reputation means nothing, could play a blinder for us or be s++te for the next ten games ,you should by rights earn the shirt ,Taylor hasn't ,whether he will or not remains to be seen , but his reputation is at watford not here , if he plays well and builds one for swfc all well and good but for now he's just another cb and nothing special at the moment ,at least Liiera will give his all , These are exactly my sentiments..... I don't even think we would even be having this debate!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do agree the with the George Graham philosophy that you start from the back in most cases, but when you have midfielders who can't beat the first man with a ball on corners & you leave your top scorer (COG) out of the line up.....you're setting your stall out to put pressure on the defence to keep clean sheets. This isn't happening....with some proper school boy errors! In this instance I think you have to play your attacking threat & best dead ball specialist......if this happens to be a centre half so be it! At the point where the highly rated centre half & captain looks likely to 'marshall his defence' into clean sheets he'll get my vote......but when he looks no better defensively than one of our most productive players, he ain't getting the nod from me. I don't care about reputations......I care about now.......... Over the years I've 'pinned too many colours to the mast' of players with past great reputations.......only to see us end up relegated.........
