@owlstalk
Was listening to a Richard Herring podcast last night where he was saying that basically football should and could be better by making goalscoring opportunities more available He also said that there should be a points system introduced to count as 'goals' So if you score a goal - that's one point If you were to do a keepy uppy for 30 seconds during the game that's a point (goal) And if a keeper was to save a goal - that should count as a goal What do you think ? Certainly IMO too many goals at the top level are scored from set pieces/dead balls. How you encourage teams to play more attractive football well it could be that any goal from outside the penalty box in free play counts 2. Guest Johnbloodaxe
I think another point should be available for not arguing with the ref at any point in the game, justthe captain asking politley for explanations about decisions. and another point for gentlemanly conduct in a game, or maybe .5 point... so you could award ,5 for not paying in gloves or scarves when it's cold. @owlstalk
any goal from outside the penalty box in free play counts 2. Definitely Another idea was that if you keep the ball on the centre spot for more than 30 seconds you get 1000 points/goals Owlstalk Shop
Blueblood
I think we should be able to play a defensive team and offensive team too and maybe bring on specialised kickers to take set plays
Guest intercity0wl
Falling on your arse at the feet of a centre half, and looking up pitifully at the ref should earn some decent points as well
PeteG_1984
You should definitely get extra points for good attendances. It would give our tiresome debates on our amazing attendances reason

Sounds fishy They should limit the height of goalkeepers to 4ft

Daz
Must be worth a goal if you batter a team for longer than 10 minutes at once. And another if our fans are having a whale of a time.

So if you score a goal - that's one point 2. If you were to do a keepy uppy for 30 seconds during the game that's a point (goal) 3. And if a keeper was to save a goal - that should count as a goal What do you think ? Let`s say you were serious. 1. Yes. That is the object of football. 2. No. What is a keepy uppy, anyway? 3. No way. Can you not imagine the unwillingness to shoot, risking to concede a goal. You can change rules in a sport, but if you change the object of a game i.e. football - the object of scoring more goals into the net than your opponent - it wouldn`t be football any more. If you want to change rules, make the changes related to the basic object(s) of the game. Ex. make bigger goals, bring back the rouge (half a goal, but rouge posts right next to the goal posts etc.)

You don't know what a keepy uppy is ? As for the second point - that's what a load of dullards on here are advocating after losing at Brighton - they want us to scrap trying to win games in case we lose em Owlstalk Shop
