It's a competition we could win and there's 6 days until our next league game so plenty of time to recover and prepare. In all honesty, I could see it being more damaging for the 'best eleven' if we let them go without a competitive game for over 9 days, they could lose that vital bit of match sharpness we're going to need against Charlton next Monday. A strong team and a comfortable result in the JPT (including a first away win of the season) would be much better preparation going into the Charlton game, rather than a couple of days extra rest.
