A report on Ultras across the UK. Worth a read to those interested.

 An interesting view on flags, fire proofing, health and safety, and "easy get outs" for clubs for "banning flags" too.

Excellent article, those with a negative view might want to look at some of the comments included...

"The repression of supporter culture in this country

is almost total – we actually had a bag of confetti

taken from us the other week because 'we might

throw it'!" SLCFC-ULTRA (UK Ultras Forum).

"The whole movement was inspired by British fans

from back in the day – the Kop, the scarves etc. We are

reclaiming that spirit of old – the same spirit that the

rest of the world have adopted and grown to love, but

we seem to have discarded and mourned ever since."

i bianconeri (UK Ultras Forum)

"A lot of clubs are starting off ultras groups now in

this country, and a lot of fans have the 'I'll join in

when it really gets off the ground' mentality, not

understanding that for it to get off the ground, it

needs YOU!" Mike Booth, Ultras Carvetii

"Stadia are generally over policed, over priced

and soulless. I feel sorry for the average young fan

growing up in this climate." The Holmesdale Fanatics

"Football is for you and me and not for f***ing

industry" Christian Bieberstein, (Chosen-Few,

Hamburg SV)

Congratulations on your 25th post on Owlstalk.

I look forward to reading your 26th.

I just hope that the high standards you've set can be maintained.

Let the 'Ultas' do their thing, fine.

However, don't go spouting that pious crap of being superior because of the number of posts to your name. I'm sure you have said some rubbish in your time on here.

Hhhmmm c**t, not everyone in that area are OCS, and we sing a full range of songs.

Makes me laugh how people like Dunc just jump to conclusions, just read on OwlsOnline in a thread about Just Can't Get Enough, someone has wrote about the band saying about their uninspiring tunes even thought it does take fans to invent the tunes.

Having just got back from Barcalona and witnessed the Espanyol fans in La Curva against Athetico Madrid, i was blown away at their fanatical support.

If the Ultras can get anywhere near the noise that was coming from them, it would be awesome.

Come on Ultras!!

I have no problem with fans making the effort, we all want a better atmosphere at games. It's the ultras tag that bugs me. Ultras are fanatical, aggressive and often politically or even racially motivated fans, that have a bad name throughout Europe. I think they could attract the wrong kind of attention

Worksopowl93 now has a -195 reputation after just 34 posts - is this a record?

Has he got a bet on & is just winding you all up?

UTO

WInding them up mate ! I was sat right next to the Ultra's last game loved them ! This thread was just to attract more attention to the wednesday ultra's.

And acting like a prik ,( correction) being a prik on here and being negative against them increases their popularity as know one wants to agree with me on here so when people read this they'll just naturally hate me and love wednesday Ultra's :S

It's like been said before. The ultras name is a tongue in cheek name. We just want to create an atmosphere.
