LichfieldOwl
Most shareholders have voted today in favour of this deal. Shareholders were voting away shares they had paid good money for and receiving no monetary value in return. Their unselfishness should not be ignored. Thank you shareholders! All the ex-Shareholders can content themselves with is the fact that, although they had paid good money for them when they bought them, their CURRENT value is Zero, Nil, Zilch, and so they are not signing away anything of Monetary Value. Still, Well done.

alanharper
You're welcome. It's gone full circle - we bought shares in the 1970s to stop the club from going bust, and signed them away in 2010...to stop the club from going bust.

Guest BoomTownOwls
They have lost their shares and their initial investment and therefore they have my condolences. They do not however need thanking or congratulating. Their choice was:- a.) Get no money for your shares and the club enters administration. b.) Get no money for your shares and the club has a new owner with cash to spend and no debt. It wasn't a difficult choice.

gandiaowl
I know there was little or no financial reward for share holders. However, they bought the shares to back the club and they have given up the shares to back the club. They have proved they are true fans of Sheffield Wednesday and no doubt they will continue to invest in the club through attendance at games and purchases in the club shop. Fanstastic people all of them.

Still, Well done. I think for many people mate, money was the last thing on their mind. Shares in Sheffield Wednesday were far more than a fiscal object. Their vote today is pretty humbling. Thank you for giving up your history so that Sheffield Wednesday can continue it's own.

SheffieldGraduate
I did feel sad that my 969 shares could not be past on to my boys, however I am so excited about the future! Edited December 14, 2010 by SheffieldGraduate
theowlsman
Milan Mandaric has only been here 10 minutes and he's already being accused of stealing little old men's shares. What a bounder, what a cad, what a Scallywag. Mandaric out!

owls-swfc
Gloryus Daynor # First I was afraid I was petrified Kept thinking I would never see you at Hillsborough The new Chairman of my beloved side And I spent so many nights Thinking how the Old Board did me wrong I grew strong I learned how to carry on Now Mandy’s back From Leicester‘s place I just walked into the EGM to find you here And the Old Board with a sad look upon their face Now’s it’s time to change that stupid lock And make them leave their key I’m just glad that all shareholders Have backed you for Wednesday No watch us Go ! # Edited December 14, 2010 by owls-swfc
