theowlsman
Dear Gertie, Wish you were here, having a terrific time. Weather could be better but yesterday we saw The Wednesday triumph over a very good Accrington Stanley team. Pies were only 2d and were filled with lovely steak and kidney. Caught a tram to Abbeydale Picture Palace last night and saw a splendid young man called Errol Flynn, such a dashing young man. See you next week at the WI. With kindest regards Ethel

I have to say my encounter left me somewhat flushed and exhalted in equal measures. My gentleman friend called himself Mr Burntwood Owl Snr. He had an endearing smile but let's say approached life with vigour. Your friend always Ethel Oh, Sheffield is wonderful!
