Someone simply being German always brings this out from sections of the British population, and its cringeworthy at best. The Germans themselves just shake their heads in dismay at this rubbish, and to most people it's just embarrassing when someone decides to pipe up with it all and everyone gets tarred with that attitude. Met some German girls once when on a lads holiday, and one of the guys absolutely killed it for everyone by never shutting up about the war. They just felt awkward around him and left.
