Time to open the cheque book.

It is becoming glaringly obvious that we lack any potent threat from our midfield as we lack a playmaker who is able to make the killer pass and rely purely on the pace of Antonio/JJ/Helan and now Maghoma to make things happen. There is little or no guile to our attacks and if teams sit back we cant break them down. The other problem being the lack of a top class finisher a 20 goals a season man because when we do get a chance the majority are wasted.Unless we solve these problems now it will be another long hard slog at the wrong end of the table. Its deeds not words time Milan,we cant afford to be adrift by the start of september .

Why is Milan's chequebook always the answer? Does it have mystical powers?

It doesn't have to be a case of opening the cheque book. If we know we can't compete with other teams in the division, then perhaps we need to be more realistic about our targets. Why are we always waiting for unattainable targets? Other sides have snapped up players from the ranks of free transfers and are managing pretty well with those inferior players.

FFP what have we spent this year ? Not asking for 5million ,but an investment of around 1.5 which would surely be reasonable for a championship club. What would the financial effect be of relegation, more than treble that figure.

I'm sure Mandaric is completely unaware of the fact that the club would lose value in the short term if it were to be relegated. And why are you even talking in such terms after our league campaign so far comprises a single narrow defeat to a team way better resourced than ours that is expected to challenge for the title?

Is that just a general investment of 1.5 million ?  Is it 1.5 million spent on wages ?  1.5 on transfer fee's alone ?  1.5 on keeping the club afloat ?

No other team gives a flip about FFP it's just an excuse for the happy clapping losers

Why do you keep banging that drum? Wednesday lose and you insult others on here... Is that how the child in you operates?

FFP? Cast your eyes around the rest of the championship squads, ours is small in terms of both quantity and quality. We have three forwards, none proven at this level.

The window hasn't closed yet.

Whatever the problems are, the solution for many is always to spend, spend, spend and damn the consequences.

I know some people don't like my long, thoughtful posts so I'll make a highly pertinent point in just three letters... F-F-P.

People do seem to be constantly ignoring it but it's here to stay.

Maybe you should pin a post and just refer to it every time there's a billionaire / cheque book opening thread.

For clubs without the benefit of parachute payments, increases in matchday and commercial/retail revenue is the only way clubs will compete in the Football League.
