HarryPlopper
Why would we have wished to prove that Pecnic isn't a central midfielder in a league game against Derby? Jones tried, failed and changed the system in the first half when he realised his mistake. Best to make the mistake now and move on, right? 2-0 we looked poo , 4-2 we can go into the start of the season thinking we can carry on where we left off last season. When McCabe gets clearance, just you watch us in the league really go for it. AND as an added bonus, Coke and Cogba prove they are not going to be the forgotten men. p.s - LINES WOULD HAVE BOSSED THE GAME TODAY.
owlinexile
We have learned some useful lessons without it costing us today - 1) Madine isn't ready to come back yet. 2) Pecnik can't play in the middle. 3) Reda is vulnerable at LB. 4) COG and JJ still have plenty to offer. 5) Coke is currently our best choice at central midfield until McCabe's clearance comes through. Guest foreverSWFC
Lines would have been in his element that second half.

Seriously if Coke is our best choice then I am worried !!!
McRightSide
Biggest negative for me was our defending from crosses. For the last 12 months its been a cornerstone of what we do, and with that back 5 we should be much more effective than we were tonight.
theowlsman
If you completely ignore the first half, I'd agree with you.
H2Owl
I think pecnik is a big threat to mcguire in the hole on that showing Agreed. Not sure why Maguire went off? Looks like he'll work hard but not an out and out striker.

Agreed. People can argue point 5 but with Lines out and McCabe not able to play he's the best option right now.
hdan450
We also learned Pecnik can offer us something up top, a lot livelier when went up there

Judging by their second there was a bit of a lack of communication between Lliera and Gardener tonight. I'm hoping that will get better the more they play together. Agree, but add to that:- 6) Kirkland is the business. 7) Perhaps Lee needs a game or two as Buxton looked vulnerable to pace.
