dorian gray Posted April 23, 2011 Share Posted April 23, 2011 but what will be the situation with neil mellor, and pne?... he is likely to be our top scorer with 20ish goals... he has scored these in a non too great side... if retained, he will hopefully be playing in a much better team... and one would hope if able to stay fit be knocking on the 30+ door... so bearing in mind preston are coming into this division, and may need a proven goal scorer at this level... what is mellor's worth to preston, to us, or to anyone else?... I thought the Preston chairman said that Mellor would never play for them again, but maybe he'll change his mind if they find themselves down here next season. I reckon if Mellor does go back he'll tell them he wont be resigning so they either accept a fee now or he leaves on a free. Mellor and Madine good for 40 if they can replicate this seasons form next season, Coke should be good for another 10 if he plays every week. Where are the other 25 going to come from?? I think with the additions of Batth and Jones the defence is pretty much sorted if we can keep them both. Have confidence in the 4 strikers to score goals so I would sing Mellor.
