goh
Surely we can stretch to slightly more than £75k if we are really serious on signing him?! We probably can but just cos we have money to spend now doesn't mean we have to pay over the odds.
sheffield_dave
If Scottish football is lower Championship at best, then signing Reynolds would still be an improvement on the sub-par League One defence we have now. Especially at left back.
Bluesteel
Our defence has been poo at Championship level for years so Reynolds is worth a shot. SInce this is all over the press, I'm really suprised other teams havent made a bid too?
Tudders
We probably can but just cos we have money to spend now doesn't mean we have to pay over the odds. If he's a player who, when under contract,is valued at around 1m (rangers had the 750k bid turned down),then upping our offer to 200k surely wouldnt be paying over the odds? We'd still be getting him for a fifth of his value. Our interest in him is in the media,id hate us to miss out on what people describe as the complete defender, for the sake of 125k.
Guest Darkus Owlus
Ffs. Make the 100k plus bid and get on with it. When there's competition, you swoop in and vulcher the deal, not **** around over 25-50k. Get it done or we lose him wednesday!
Guest Briscoe Inferno
Maybe the boy needs persuading to upsticks and move to sunny Sheffield? Maybe he's waiting for a nice fat signing on fee from one of the Old Firm?
theowlsman
This qualifies for news, it's old news if so. Motherwell are looking for between £200-250k. They aren't necessarily going to get it though
gurujuan
Well by all accounts he's decent and if we can afford him, why not. However we are signing 6 players and we now know at least 3 are defenders and probably 2 are going to be strikers so maybe only one player coming into midfield, arguably our weakest area. By weakest area, I mean quality not numbers where we already have 9 players. Numbers wise our weakest area is the forward department so its important that we get another couple in there. If we do only get one midfielder in, then he really needs to be the sort who can galvanize the team and command that midfield area.
