  1. Overheard a couple of Barnsley fans today at work. They were on about the final and one had stayed over in Watford and it was full of Wednesday fans. They thought it was ironic and funny that Wetherspoon's had run out of bacon….. never known such a one-sided rivalry I can’t believe they are still so bitter and why are they so angry at Wednesday for VAR? Wasn’t our fault they agreed with on field decision.
  2. I put this on the morning after the Peterborough first leg. Cash out at £70 but keeping the faith!
  3. There is probably more rivalry and scores to settle with Wednesday and Barnsley than Luton and Coventry, so no surprise really. Not sure you can compare the two. Hope you’re right but have a feeling there will be some isolated incidents at some point on Monday.
  4. Doc White! IT teacher! His daughter was in my form!
  5. He is spot on as well. Let Barnsley get all excited about it but nerves will hit them harder when it comes. We will do it as we have all season; professional and prepared.
  6. I left in 96 so we were probably there at the same time for a year
  7. Barnsley are putting more and more pressure on the players. They’re approaching it in the wrong way in my opinion by making a huge thing of Wembley. We are approaching it like every other match, doing nothing different as to not put too much pressure on the players. I prefer our approach, but time will tell.
  8. what year at Darton High? Absolutely loads of Wednesday fans in Barnsley. I think that’s why they hate us so much, we live amongst them!
  9. Mapplewell/Staincross. 4 of us over 3 generations going by car with scarves out of the windows loud and proud all the way. Living and working in Barnsley means winning is the only option!
  10. Just seen this but not only were they certain that Peterborough were already there but also that they were! Their misguided confidence will make it all the sweeter beating them
  11. Surely to get a ticket you would need to be on that clubs database otherwise nothing stopping Wednesday fans getting them as well? Hull made that mistake when we started buying their tickets and changed it to having to have purchase history to get a ticket.
  12. you sure? Could swear that Plymouth were top of the league
  13. In no particular order; Derby 3-3 Huddersfield play off semi Arsenal 7-1 FA Cup Final replay 93 crystal Palace relegation Huddersfield 4-4 - for some reason this took me ages to get over Plenty of others when I’ve been disappointed, but sometimes you have to accept the better team won. Those above just got me in a different way
  14. Maybe the tune but with words “sign on, sign on, with pen in your hand and you’ll never get a job” referencing miners strike?
  15. Our stadium is safe, Our stadium is safe, ******** off Newcastle, our stadium is safe…
  16. I’d give them the minimum amount. Whether it’s the title, automatic promotion or play offs, we will sell out so prioritise us rather than them
  17. We’ve got super Barry Bannan, Byers, Smith and Gregory, with Palmer at the back, and Windass in attack, Wednesday are going to win the league To the tune Newcastle sing “we’ve got Bruno in the middle”
  18. Like others have said, Ipswich for me are very predictable and don’t seem to be able to play any other way. They use that diagonal ball from their left to right over the opponents left back way too much. You just know it’s coming. Their fans were getting very frustrated first half on Saturday and there were a few boo’s etc at loose passes or slow build up. That Smith chance to make it 0-3 or we go in 0-2 at half time and we win that quite easily. Importantly, at the minute it’s in our own hands and that’s a good position to be in. And for me with Bolton, Derby and Barnsley to play, avoiding defeat in all or any, and we will be fine. Even a defeat in one of them will still take a lot to do. Barnsley won’t catch us for sure and it will take a hell of a lot from the others to overtake us. If we can avoid defeat against Bolton and pick up at least 3 points in the 2 games in hand, then they won’t catch us.
  19. Despite our bad record at Derby, I’ve been 4 times to PP and not seen us lose. Went to the infamous 3-3, 2-0 win last game of the season 2006, 2-2 draw in FA Cup 2008 then the 2-2 first game back in the Championship. That 3-3 was a turning point and in effect was the beginning of the end really. The 2-0 win was probably the start of them stealing the bounce song when about 10 of them started doing it in their end. For some strange reason, all I can remember of the 2-2 FA Cup match was Wednesday fans singing “Johnson is a Wednesdayite” just because we’d just had Michael Johnson on loan from them. The 2-2 was pretty much carnage. Never see so many drunk Wednesday fans, me included, and I was sat next to them in the extra bit we got in the corner. When O’Grady scored, some random guy kissed me and at 2-2 I ended up 10 rows further forward
  20. Some kind of air guitar record attempt at half time versus Sunderland
  21. Already been mentioned, but what happened to the simple “The Wednesday” clap, clap, clap? Remember Barnsley away in the early 00’s, got out of the car in the town centre and the train must have just come in, cos all you could hear was “The Wednesday” ringing around the train station and in the air. Made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
  22. Great news. I like Jack Hunt and he clearly enjoys playing for Wednesday. No brainier at this level.
