Why are racists surprised when one of their lot gets nicked?

It's because there is quite clearly a significant percentage of the targeted population that feel the offence doesn't fit the punishment.

They need to get into 2024 then and not linger in the 1970's

Playing a Welsh sides and having rods stuck up at me and being called an English so and so I expect and I would say even want to happen. Adds a bit of colour to the game.

I really cant believe any person at Wrexham v. Tranmere was offended by being called a Welsh / English so and so that day.

Many people (including families) go to games to see the opposition fans being a bit disrespectful towards each other.

The incident at the Coventry league game was offensive crossed a line and the person responsible deserved to be arrested and dealt with.

To have a blanket ban on football fans being a bit impolite to one another and having no nuance or context is not the way to go for me.

Good lord

Yes I stand by that and I think most football fans would agree.
Fans chanting about Leeds fans murdered in Turkey, Hillsborough disaster, Monkey Chants, Chants against female referee has got an STD cross a line and are unacceptable.
Being called a English so and so and in reply Welsh fans being called sheep shaggers is not offensive and I enjoy this type of humour at games.

Not to me. No more than someone calling me "an Audi driving stinky bum"

Maybe it's just our male white privilege

Doesn't matter whether it's offensive to me, as I wasn't there, but the investigation deemed it to be offensive, and the person who did it was "genuinely very sorry".

I do find it odd that there seems to be more of this "I don't find it offensive therefore it's not offensive" stuff happening lately.

The match has finished, just asking if it’s offensive to have shouted that.

Why don't you go to the next match he's playing in and try, then report back 👍

Don’t think he’ll miss another penalty shootout for Wales any time soon 👍

My answer would be it’s not offensive.

What would your answer be? 👍

I'm not Welsh, so can't answer.

Tell you what, get yourself to Cardiff and shout it to a random Welsh person, then report back 👍
