Johnson has been pivotal, but the Storey signing, as well as the return of other centre backs from injury, is what freed up Johnson to return to the flank.

It's all interconnected.

Absolutely as is the return of Byers which meant we improved the defence, midfield and out wide with the storey signing, but Johnson should get the plaudits he deserves....

It surely is an "Anti Moore brigade" here on Owlstalk. Not sure how anybody can question that.

I guess some are rassists, but some just dislike the Moore as a person or as manager and are not prepared to acknowledge any positive things.

That does not mean, that everybody, who challenges any of his decisions, is automatically in that "anti Moore brigade".

Thats just stupid

Exactly.

Getting defenders in stopped us being so weak at the back. It also freed up players, to play in their correct positions. Johnson particular has been outstanding.

At the same time, we swapped corbeanu for NML....a big upgrade........byers and mass came back

Et voila.....we suddenly have a bloody good team

It's a real issue.

If we played every game at home on a Saturday at 3pm, we'd probably win the league by about 20 points.

Why we can't take that into our away performances is anyone's guess. Perhaps the manager overthinking it? Players a bit of a soft underbelly? Not great when things go a bit awry (which will happen when you are away)?

The weird thing is I would be more confident about Wycombe and MK than two bottom of the league times.

We have won away to Rovrum and Wigan and did so easily enough.

However come up against a scrappy team at a pokey ground and we come unstuck.

Bar one game before Byers returned, pretty much, yeah.

The two coincided pretty well, really.

And having actual centre backs meant Johnson was able to return to the flanks, of course.

I think Johnson being free to ping in top quality crosses time and time again has been massively important.
