After agree on his late 60s early 70s, good stuff.

Python Lee Jackson - he ended up playing for Brentford.

I always liked his album with Maggie May and Mandolin Wind?

Was That his first solo effort - post the Faces?

Yes, 6 sixes.

I remember that. Captured on camera too.

A great sportsman - transcends all loyalties.

I saw Tendulkar too, in his last game the Oval - IIRC he was out for a duck.

Tendulkar (for those who have any interest, was the first non Yorkshireman to play for Yorkshire- aged 16).

I still think Yorkshire should only select from those born within its boundary - it made us special.

Parochial but, special.

Times have changed mate

Well call ya sens Wednesdayites!

Rod is a Wednesdayite

He played on Hi Ho Silver Lining, in the Jeff Beck Band in the late 60's.

He said at the time of release WAWAW...though Jeff Beck had no clue what he was on about...he played a bit of harmonica and backing vocals

Honestly  ?

Eh...Eddie Floyd wern't it ? or are you thinking of Aimi Stewart lol

Written by Steve Cropper IIRC.

He told a story about it when they did that big music and cultural festival in Seville c 1992 (BBC did a featured music set every night for a week). Apparently he needed a follow up hit to "Midnight Hour" which he co-wrote with Wilson Pickett so he took the chord sequence, reversed it and "Knock On Wood" was born.

Can’t say I was much into soul but Wilson Pickett eh?

We’ve (I) have lived through some great times and artists.

Proper music.

My top three Rod Stewart records are:

1) Maggie May

2) Stay With Me - The Faces

3) In A Broken Dream - Python Lee Jackson

Make of that what you will!
