I think you just want our big image big money signing to be in the side because he's fashionable. He has done nothing, absolutely nothing, even one time, to suggest he is anywhere near Bannan's level. I would love to be proven wrong and on being proven wrong, I would want Abdi in over Bannan. He controlled everything at Forest, and was the main reason we were so good. Barry Bannan is a wonderful talent but makes a lot of mistakes and seems to need others around him win back the ball and allow him to play his game. For this reason I prefer him wide. I assume your talking about away fixture. I cant comment on that game. HE has only played about 4 or 5 other games and has been poor in each of them. onlyonedavidhirst Posted April 12, 2017 Share Posted April 12, 2017 I've seen every game Abdi has played and think he is he better midfielder, however only in the Forest game as he shown it. Having said that, how many times has he been picked as a starting central midfielder? For now though, we must get behind Bannan and to be fair, the entire team right through to the end of the season, hopefully culminating in a win at Wembley. Just goes to show that when theyre all fit how hard CC's job actually is, and thats just 5 players for a midfield 2/3. I want JOC and Potter back it caused less fuss. I just don't understand. He looks really poor to me. Often gives ball away and no creativity to go through the lines. Light weight and has nothing done anything particularly impressive baring an admitedly world class goal. Other than the goal I havnt seen a single positive moment from Abdi. The amount of pressure Bannan puts us under by losing the ball constantly leads to us conceding, most notably against Reading, where he tried to be too clever in midfield, lost the ball, 3 passes later and the ball was in the back of the net.
