Then went on a run to get back into 3rd ?

Yes. Were 6th on 44 points after losing 26th game to Rotherham in mid Jan, then had a great run to get 89 points and finish on equal points with Midds. Didn't quite reel in their goal difference in the end.

I'm still a pessimist with regards to actually holding on to that top 2 spot this season though.

Hughton has been in his job 6 months longer than CC, but both have had 2 full seasons. I know which one of them I'd be happier to see in the home dug out at Hillsborough and anyone who doesn't agree is deluded. Never going to happen, of course.

Tell is which one and we could perhaps agree or disagree !!

I need to know if I'm deluded

Given the choice of  Brighton or Huddersfield finishing 3rd and us playing one of them I would much rather play Huddersfield.

I'm the other way

We beat Huddersfield twice, but they were the better team in both games

Whereas we lost to Brighton twice, and we were the better team

I fancy our chances against Brighton

It doesn't matter how we play, all that matters is the results. Of course it's great if we can play well and win but in massive games like the play offs al that is important is winning the games however we play.

I wouldn't say they were the better team, especially at their place, we were unlucky not to be 2/3-0 winners imo.

We couldn't get the ball off them in either game

I'd sooner play Brighton in the play offs

What happened to them last year would play heavy on their minds

So why play Brighton if all that matters is winning when we haven't beaten them this season. We have beaten Huddersfield, we have proved we can play badly yet still beat Huddersfield.

Beating Huddersfield twice this season doesn't mean we will beat them again

If anything, it makes them more of a threat

Similarly with Brighton, we know we have to up our game to get the result, what we did to them last season will be on their minds

It's Brighton for me
