GY-owl.4
they were better than us. but im moaning about their first goal, ARM in the FACE on halfway line, how can he not give that?
33
Because the player went over like a four year old little girl like he usually does...?
GY-owl.4
no, because there WAS contact, an the way the game has gone in the last 15 yrs re: facial/head injurys - whether we think they are girls or not - it was a foul.
marconi
Maguire gets the blame from me for their first goal, over theatrical reaction, and stayed down instead of tracking back.
33
I like a lot of what Maguire can do. I don't like him being a big flippingPansy who falls over far too easily...!
GY-owl.4
i agree in principle 33. an we can sit here an debate the changes in the game over the last 20 yrs - for instance, i think 80% of penaltys in prem league wouldnt have been given 20 yrs ago... but as DanTM said in another thread, nowadays the ref should stop the game for these type of injurys. while i agree he never smashed him, couldve easy been fingers in the eye. hands all over the face but carry on? nowadays? er.. no
mallinj
goalkeepers right toe is on the line look where his outstretched right arm is unless he is disjointed the ball is over the line Plus, this still shot shows the keepers hand next to the ball. Can't scoop the ball out with his hand next to it! Run it on a few frames so that his hand is behind the ball and you'll see a different view. I've seen the footage on ITV and in realtime i am yet to be convinced this is not miles over, even with their so-called mockup which is based on what point in time precisely? 33
Agree, but maybe Clattenburg was aware of the historical play acting and it went against him...?
themaskedowl
Have we found any grace yet or are we giving it up as a lost cause?
GY-owl.4
Agree, but maybe Clattenburg was aware of the historical play acting and it went against him...? you may well be right, though has maguire played enough first team footy for a prem ref to be aware?
