According to the local authority it was closed near Alfreton due to a vehicle fire. Due to be re-opened at approx 10.30am so expect delays around that time

Not sure why you would go A38 anyway?

Imagine a right-angled triangle with the hypoteneuse on the left. The perpendicular is the M1 from J28 (the A38) down to J25. The base is the A25 from J25 to Derby. The hypoteneuse is the A38. Although Pythagoras would have it that the square on the hypoteneuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the two opposite sides, he would have agreed with me that the length of the hypoteneuse is indeed shorter than the sum of the lengths of the perpendicular and the base. Thus, it is a shorter journey down the A38.

Or you could go through Chesterfield (A61) It's shorter mileage but takes longer, if you live Lowedges/Bradway that would be the nest route.

But it does get a little busy and it leads onto the A38, just slightly further down.
