CB31
im pretty sure it was Hamshaw who crossed it for Peacock to score. Can someone please confirm? Paul Heckingbottom swung in a free kick and Peacock had the freedom of the Brentford penalty area and placed a header past Nelson and into the far corner. http://www.brentfordfc.co.uk/page/MatchReport/0,,10421~29168,00.html
sheffield_dave
Best thing about the Watford goal was the little dink off the post at the end. Just made it that did.
malek
Best talent I've seen emerging from our academy in my time of supporting Wednesday. If only it wasn't for all those injuries...
BRADDAZ
A couple of memories of Matty Hamshaw. Obviously THAT goal against Watford. One of the best I've seen from a Wednesday player. The celebration was quality too. The other was I think the Forest game at home when he did his knee in. He had just got over a few little injuries and got a run of games going. He was tearing Forest a new one. I thought we were finally seeing the player who was so highly rated. He was class that day. Then he did his knee badly and never really recovered after that. Good player Hamshaw but I think the number of injuries he had and a couple of real bad ones has meant that he's never really achieved what his ability could have IMO. Stainless
Quality player with a lot of ability but injuries robbed him of all his pace. Denver the goal against Watford. Also a free kick in front of kop where he whiped the ball aroun the wall and just inside the post. Not sure who it was against though

The game when Lee Morris scored twice for them and knocked himself out in the process of the second.

Stokey
Like a lot of promising youngsters we've had, he failed to make the next step up. But then again, we love an underachiever at Hillsborough don't we? harsh imo he had injury problems that really stopped his career when it was just getting momentum. CB31
harsh imo he had injury problems that really stopped his career when it was just getting momentum. He did well to even recover from the injuries he had, they took 2 years of his career away. I remember people on here at the time saying he was finished, so all credit to him for having a career as decent as he's had.
Guest foreverSWFC
Reyt player. Good crosser, tricky and clever with the ball.
Waddling Owl
Remember me having to play full back against him when we were both about 14 and he played for Rawmarsh St Josephs. Ripped to shreds and left on my arse repeatedly...
malek
First time I've seen him was on eurosport playing for England U-16's against Sweden U-16's. Frazier Richardson, Stuart Parnaby, Leon Knight and Rory Fallon played as well, but Matty was by absolute mile the best player on the field. He played as right forward in what was 4-3-3 formation, and absolutely murdered Sweds in that 2:1 win. He almost cracked bar in half with long range piledriver, and Fallon scored easy tap in from another.

Yes, it was Heckingbottom But, was it his cross for 1:0 in the first game ? Edited June 1, 2012 by malek
Pulsar
Always liked Matty as a player. Last time i saw him was about 4 years ago at the Consort Suite in Thurcroft. He was cracking up at Billy Pearce.
CB31
Yes, it was Heckingbottom But, was it his cross for 1:0 in the first game ? He was swinging some good crosses in from the left in the home leg. I think he put it in, Peacock headed it across and when it came to Quinn he did the backheel for JP to finish, via Sodje. Hamshaw put one in for JP to hit the bar as well.
