Andysowls
At times he has though its fact sometimes he goes over like just been shot even though he only got touched rather than actually tackled. So maybe it hit a nurve and its nice to see that Madine has stopped is pathetic dives here and there so well done Madine!! Dino?
townend_owl
Yeah, as above. Madine said in his interview afterwards the Preston bench had been giving him stick for going down easily etc... so he gave them a bit back. If they give Madine stick for that, imagine what they'd do playing against Ched the ripper!
owlsdreamer
Great win yesterday, second time I'd seen you live this season, after your performance against Charlton at the Valley. Was impressed. First half wasn't the greatest half of football in the world but in the second you more than took the game to them. Antonio and Johnson looking impressive. I came to the conclusion that Reda Johnson is a man mountain. Nile Ranger is effective. Nobody gets past Semdo. Gary Madine was very good - I never realised he had a jump that good in fairness, took me by surprise, looks a very talented boy who could probably cut it in the championship. Main question, and apologies if its been posted before. What was with Gary Madine's celebration and who was it aimed towards? I honestly think you'll (we'll) go up. Up the Owls! Sitting just behind the home dugout i could clearly hear Madine call their assistant coach a rumbleing thrower after scoring his 1st goal . I heard later that at half time the coach had had a go at Madine in the tunnel. After his 2nd goal the entire Preston bench got a mouthful from Madine. Westley is clearly out of his depth at this level. Edited April 2, 2012 by owlsdreamer
Herb
Westley is clearly out of his depth at this level. I genuinely despise Westley after how he treated my local club (Farnborough) but to suggest he's out of his depth at this level is strange. He'd had a very bright start with Stevenage before taking the opportunity to join a significantly bigger club. It's unfortunate for him that he's joined a club that are in a dire situation financially and where he is clearly not liked by the players but I think he can cut it in this league. Some people struggle to make the switch from a small club to a much bigger one where you're expected to win games, expected to attack, expected to conduct yourselves in a certain way befitting of the clubs size and history. Perhaps Westley will always be more suited to an underdog but there's no doubting he's got a pretty good record (prior to Preston.)
Dizzys Dad
The snidy, spoiling tactics he uses to try and win matches, might work at tin pot clubs [ Farnborough and Stevenage], but fans of proper football clubs, [Preston],won`t put up with football like that. Guest antowl
Isn't the gesture 'cocking a snook'? We used to do that as kids http://www.phrases.org.uk/bulletin_board/19/messages/512.html Is he cocking the snook? is it some sort of variation? on 2nd thoughts does anyone care? oh_weds_we_love_you
Wish the opposition team would wind Madine up like that every week. Only one person was winning that header and Madine made sure any f*cker in his way knew it!
Liam_Baggies
The spelling mistake aside, you're a quick learner. You'll be calling us "MASSIVE" next ;) I noticed it, but for some reason the site wouldn't allow me to edit it. Wednesday are MASSIVE now then sunshine i wer hurtling down m5 on friday i liked them blue tower blocks near your ground, first time ive been down there for ages :madine: and thats it :st2: Don't quite see what that has to do with the Madine celebration. West Brom isn't the greatest town in the world, I'll admit that, but for a population of around 100,000+ our football team does very well considering it competes with Blues, Villa & Wo1ve5
Guest QualityOwl
Is strange, started wondering this myself, first saw it on geordie shore, they use it as a term meaning they are joking or lying about something, its like the little finger is pinochio's nose. Not sure why you would do it after scoring a goal though!
