KivoOwl Posted February 26, 2012 Share Posted February 26, 2012 Bywater - 7 Buxton - 7 Batth - 9 R.Jones - 8 R.Johnson - 8 Antonio - 8 Semedo - 8 Lines - 7 Prutton - 7 (M.Jones - 6) O'Grady - 9 Lowe - 8 (Madine - 7) Thought first half they had the better of the play but second half we battered them. The work rate was so impressive, where we've picked that up from after such a poor few weeks I've no idea. Batth had Evans in his pocket. Rob Jones was so commanding. Semedo was back to his best. O'Grady was colossal again, and Lowe ran his socks off. Madine did well when he came on to. I found it ironic they were screaming 'HOOOOF' every time Bywater took a goal kick - there was only one team playing hoofball in the second half and it wasn't us. Mark Halsey gave them everything, every little niggly challenge he gave it their way. fifaowl Posted February 26, 2012 Share Posted February 26, 2012 Bywater 8- VERY commanding and class save at the end. Buxton 8- Had Quinn in his back pocket and a great cross for the goal. Rob Jones 9- Solid as owt. Headed everything away and what a tackle at the end. Batth 8- Struggled first half with Ched but dealt with him well in the second. Reda 8- BEAST. Antonio 8- Definately the player to replace Marshall. Lines 8- Got involved in the scrap. Semedo 9- Gave him some stick recently but today he was back to his early season form. You'll never get past him! Prutton 6/7- Didn't do alot. O'Grady 9- Lead the line very well and great header. Lowe 7- Struggled to make an impact but he ran his socks off. Subs: Madine 8- Came on and did very well, held up the ball well and kept it in the corner when needed. Trying to make an impression. Jones 7- Good defensive work and neat touches. Looks decent. Great overlap and cross for the goal Batth - 9 MOM, didn't put a foot wrong, calm and composed through out Jones - 8 Captains performance, and what a tackle on Hoskins(?) Reda - 7 Did well, but nothing overly spectacular, just did what was needed. Antonio - 7 Promising start, hopefully hes what weve been looking for since Marshall left us. Did very well to come into a team on tuesday and play in a city derby. Hopefully he will crack on now. Lines - 7 Tried to spread play, won a lot of aerial battles and set peices were decent enough. Semedo - 8 Never stopped running, immense Prutton - 6 Slow start, wasn't cutting the crosses out but improved a lot in the second half O'Grady - 8 Worked effortless as normal and topped off a good performance with a cracking goal. Very pleased he was the one who got the winner, will do his confidence a lot of good Lowe - 6 Tried hard but never really got involved. Just don't see how he fits into our team, but his effort can't be faulted/ Subs: Jones didn't really get involved, Madine was a good move, he was what we needed up front, and I think personally we need to get the lad playing again. Hes got that extra bit of quality we lack at times. We need this lad scoring. Overall, a scrappy game, United edged the first half slightly, but the freekick hitting the bar seemed to be a turning point. We got more into the game, and we dominated the second half.
