Sam779
Is it me or did the ref tell the player to wait for the whistle - the player kicked the ball anyway, and the ref blew his whistle whilst the ball was in flight?
alanharper
Not sure tbh, at the game they did seem to take it quickly but the ref had walked away from organising the wall. Still no excuse for Weaver fluffing it like he did, although to be fair to him he made 2 other superb saves.
Junglejay
I thought that, when it went in it was almost like he was about to blow up and just thought "flip it I'll just carry on" Edited January 22, 2011 by Junglejay

Eastern
Might prove to be a decisive goal in the future of our club. At 3-0 Milan may not act. At 4-0 he might. Pray hope that the 4th goal saves our season.
mattitheowl
Yeah I said the same thing to my dad, I thought he had blown for an infringement in the box, all the players just stood there and never moved (more so than the rest os the second half). Just not bothered...
Guest jake benson
I thought he blew his whistle twice
mattitheowl
Just watched it on TFLS and had the volume up, the bloke takes his run up hits it and just as it leaves his foot the ref blows his whistle! The ref was looking at the box and not the kick taker and it was so close you probably can't blame him for not noticing. Just not bothered... Sam779
I've just watched it too and I agree with you Matt. To be honest I wasn't looking to finger point as we were already dead and buried, just thought I may have been going mad.

Pompeyowl
Is it me or did the ref tell the player to wait for the whistle - the player kicked the ball anyway, and the ref blew his whistle whilst the ball was in flight? Yes. It also wasn't a penalty and the other two were offside. The free kick weren't a free kick due to their strriker diving. This isn't an excuse by the way, we were awful, but the game was lost after the penalty.

captain bucky o'hare
Is it me or did the ref tell the player to wait for the whistle - the player kicked the ball anyway, and the ref blew his whistle whilst the ball was in flight? Yes as I remember the ref hadn't signalled for the kick to be taken and seemed to be in two minds as to whether to give it for a moment. In all honesty though, I was in the frame of mind that the more goals the better so I didn't get too caught up on it.
Pompeyowl
We thought 2 were off, some around said no pen but it was I thought, even after watching on FL It was hard to tell from the replay, but I still think it came off the leg. Many other refs wouldn't have given it..... appart from that Trevor Kettle
Nookiebear
He blew after it was taken. That's why nobody cheered for a second when it went in. Or at least that's how I remember it.
