  1. Exactly. And who wants to listen to a virtue signalling champagne socialist.
  2. The issue is whether Röhl can get his own players - or at least those on his A list. Apparently, in January, we had to meet certain players away from Sheffield, for various reasons I won't go in to. This is one of the things Röhl wants addressing. And that in itself says all you need to know about our manager and his attention to small details. His background is totally different to ours, and we either change - for the better - or he'll end up leaving. This isn't down to finances for players either. He can deal with that.
  3. "That conversation" has already happened - at least as a starting point. It's a question of whether DC can do what DR wants, quick enough. I won't divulge exactly what I've heard, but the fact there appears to be work going on at the training ground, possibly suggests DC has moved to accommodate something there.
  4. That's because Bannan has DC's ear. DC doesn't trust many people, but he does Bannan. And to a large extent, what Bannan says, goes. He pretty much rules the place, and that is direct from a current player. Obviously there are limits to what Bannan can and does influence, but if a face doesn't fit, then that face won't be around for too long. Fortunately, Bannan is Wednesday through and through, and also shares many traits with the likes of Röhl and the current backroom staff, so he wouldn't suggest anything detrimental to the club. There should be a firewall between the club captain and club owner, but in our case, due to DC's mistrust, naivity, ego and stupidity, there is nobody in place to do that. And so if DC were to ask BB his opinions on Röhl, I would hope DC would do the right thing. He needs backing in the summer and whatever contract he is on, increasing and extending, if only for the compensation we will receive when he is finally poached from us.
  5. 4999. Missing tonights game because I'm a rebel Funnily enough, I lived in Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaridge for 12 years, so I didn't get to a lot of games. Before that, probably every home game for 10 years, and a good 50% of the away games. Since I moved back, I was a season ticket holder for 6 years, until my son was born. I've got to be close to a 1000. Quite possibly over.
  6. It's not shocking treatment; it's football. Gregory has sat down with the Danny Röhl and put his case across. Röhl has explained his own reasons, and that is pretty much that. It's not personal, it's what it is. Lee knows the situation and as frustrating as that is for him, he accepts it. Team moral isn't even anything that is being affected by it.
  7. Ex NFL star. Wide Receiver for a host of teams (Bengals, New England Patriots, Dolphins).
  8. Erm, I posted that before the Leeds match. Yeah, that's it. What makes this worse is I actually thought we'd played 38 games, and still believed we had 10 games left. I've no hope of being taken seriously, have I. Nurse!
  9. You're looking at it too literally. I totally agree with what you've said, but that's not what the phrase is really alluding to. Is it better to go and attempt to get three points, than sit tight for a draw? Of course it is. And sometimes, doing so, will result in zero points. And sometimes, it won't. I would suggest, without doing any analysis or research, that those teams, who are capable during a match of getting all three points, would fare better over the season, than those who aren't, simply because they are going for the win. If a team pushes, and gets two extra wins a season from having this ability or mentality, that's four extra points gained (above the 2 points gained for drawing those two games). 6 points in two games, that would take 6 games to achieve if those games were draws. We've 10 games left. We'll run out of games if we draw too many, and that will kill us.
  10. It's more than that. It's 1.8 points, as that is what we would need to go above Huddersfield's 49.8. Getting just one point, based on this analysis, would leave us on 49.1, third from bottom.
  11. For all those talking of draws, have you seen Röhl's managerial stats: Played 29, drawn 3. Which ever way you look at it, that's an incredibly low number. Look at our game against Stoke as a prime example of Röhl's mentality. Had Moore been in charge of that game, he'd have most likely set us up from around 70 minutes to contain and get a point. But Röhl on 79 minutes, brought on 2 more attacking/forward players, to bolster our attack. This is after he's already brought on Musaba on 58 minutes for Cadz. Draws kill you in many ways, and I think part of the reason we're actually still in with a shout of survival is due to the lack of them. Personally, I'm in the "must not lose" camp against our relegation rivals, but I very much doubt that's DR's take on it. I can almost hear Yoda saying "Win. Or do not win. There is no draw". Danny Röhl is Yoda - although I'd guess a bit younger, slightly taller and without the ears.
  12. Day off today, and yes he was at a certain gym. He's training with the 1st team, until it comes to shadow play towards the end of the week, in preparation for the upcoming game.
  13. Dear RevOwl, Thank you for your application for the position of apprentice comedian on OwlsTalk. We really appreciate your interest, and we’re pleased that you decided to invest time and effort in creating this thread. We carefully reviewed a large number of applications; unfortunately, at this time we won’t be able to invite you to the next stage of the hiring process. Though your OP was impressive, we have decided to move forward with a candidate whose qualifications are better suited to this particular role. Kindest Regards.
  14. He's not saying that. He's quite clearly saying that free speech must be respected and tolerated, and that cuts both ways. If certain fans don't agree with the protest, they are welcome to have their say I'm sure, in a none violent, none abusive and none confrontational way - the same way that, it seems, the 1867 Group and their volunteers are acting. Spitting at, knocking flyers from and making remarks about the clothing of, the volunteers and members of the 1867 Group, crosses a boundary, whether or not you agree or disagree with the 1867 Group protest.
  15. Good - well not good because they'll all had to witness something they shouldn't - but the more the merrier to support your report. It's high time people started recording this type of thing - and that's not a discredit to you of course. Sometimes it's not easy to do, for various reasons including personal safety and timing, but it would nail the idiots once and for all. What's most annoying is that fact your group can't be the only ones who heard it, yet you're the only ones doing anything about it. That's a real shame. Caveat - others may have reported it, who aren't on OT or who don't want to identify themselves of course.
