Leon Clarke

What football league record is held by Leon Clarke? (keep it polite!)

Which former Owls striker is in second place to Clarke?

And which former Wednesday player is tied for third?

And which current Wednesday player is one behind the guy in third, amongst a host of players tied in fourth?

I have absolutely no idea, but I'm intrigued.

First thoughts were either oldest Premier League debut (but then I remembered Graham Alexander was about 54 when he made his for Burnley).

Played for the most football league clubs? But then I'm struggling to think of a current Wednesday player that's had anywhere near the amount of clubs Clarke has.

I'm guessing it has something to do with then number of clubs he's played for.  Kuqi to answer no 2. ??, Marvin Johnson for no 4.

Yes on clubs played for.

But no on the others.

So to repeat:

Which former Owls striker is in second place to Clarke for most clubs?

And which former Wednesday player is tied for third?

And which current Wednesday player is one behind the guy in third, amongst a host of players tied in fourth?

The current player must be Michael Smith? He was shipped about a lot earlier in his career.

The former striker…either Luke Varney, Deon Burton or Chris O’Grady?

Not Michael Smith.

But ding ding, we have a winner with Chris O'Grady.

Stockdale? Must've had a fair few loan deals whilst at Fulham.

Can only think of Darlo, Fulham, Birmingham, Wycombe & us as permanent clubs though.

Most league clubs played for:

20 - Leon Clarke

17 - Chris O'Grady

16 - Trevor Benjamin, Guy Branston

15 - John Burridge, Steve Claridge, Frank Nouble, David Stockdale

Clarke's almost completed a quarter of the EFL challenge!

What a strange career he had to. Absolute lower league journeyman for years and years and then makes his Premier League debut at 34.

Surely that's got to be some kind of record too?!

Graham Alexander I think is the record holder (or was at least). Two months short of 38 when he made he debut.

Was playing in the 80s, then played in the Premier League against (and beat) the likes of Bale and Modric.
