I stand by what I said. We had found a way of playing, the defence was looking solid and the teams wouldn't have wanted to play us as we were.

Yep. The curse of the Wednesday manager. Find an effective, winning formula and immediately stop doing it and start doing something else! Looking back to the OP, of course you can never say for certain, but I think if we had kept on with the same simple but effective tactics we might have got a lot more out of these games. Even if we hadn’t it would surely have been more enjoyable?
