dunsbyowl
Beginning of 1991/92 season - seats had just been installed on the Lepp. South Stand before redevelopment . Anyone else prefer this ?
Otto_Man
Wooden seats, pillars obscuring your view and poo pooter catering facilities, what was not to prefer?
BIG D
The South stand is the best looking stand in English football. It's a bit lacking on the concourses though ( not in the Grandstand )
Ash-Williams
there is no leg room unless you are on that one row thats about twenty foot wide
Taximark
No, the new South Stand is much better.
Animis
the only good thing about the old stand was the sun could actually shine on the pitch, as opposed to the new stand roof which leaves that side of the pitch permanently knackered
Guest Ozzieowlpelvicthrust
Had a season ticket in the south stand lower between 1988-1991 just behind the home dugout which was great considering the team we had. Season ticket was about £20 more than one on the kop. Catering wasn't too bad and no pillars in lower. Occassionally got soaked when it rained though. The new stand is impressive but lost a bit of character. Pity you can't see the gable end from a lot of vantage points in the ground now.
dunsbyowl
Should have been given a refund at Wolves on Saturday - sun shining directly onto Steve Bull stand - no shade - though, perhaps not a bad thing not being able to see what was happening on the pitch? Is the dugout was nearer the Kop than it is now or is that just the angle of the photo? Edited October 2, 2012 by dunsbyowl

No I think its the same now as both dugouts are kop side of the half-way line.
Rodger Wylde
The new south stand looks like a top heavy collection of blue plastic and faded blue cladding. It's awful looking compared to the old one.
