Jones explained: “David was up for grabs and he has gone to Scod canyonhorpe so it’s a chance for him to get some games under the belt.

“With Diogo, he was really homesick, he has personal problems over in Portugal and when that situation happens, there’s no sense in holding on to a player.

“He’s a smashing lad but he couldn’t settle here. We tried everything to change that but it wasn’t happening so the sensible thing was to let him go and we wish him all the best.”
