VAR - Correcting bad decisions ??

But I saw Everton’s second goal vs Palace today and I was grateful for VAR tbh.

Indeed. I agree. As much as I don’t like VAR, if an official does something inadequate at least it’s a back up.

I think the changes to the offside rule (keep yer flag down) plus VAR's presence has effectively eliminated the job of linesman now.

 

Also, what happened to Ms. Massey. Not seen her running the line lately

Most recently doing WSL and the Women's Euros matches, I think. Last Premier League match she worked was at the end of the 20/21 season.

Var back in the spotlight again tonight. 

 

Spurs goal ruled out highlighting 2 things. 1, a lot of people don't understand offside. 2, it's pernickety and takes too long. 4 minutes to make the decision doesn't scream clear and obvious to me.

 

The margins are too fine. The frame rate on the cameras isn't quick enough. It's impossible to say when the ball is played, is it on impact or at the point it leaves the players head? Those split seconds are the difference when players are crossing each others paths. It's somebody's job to try and rule out goals and that's never reight is it? 

 

Athletico match. Full Time called, AM out of champions league. Var then says there was a handball in the box. Athletico get a penalty. Keeper saves it then they hit the bar on the rebound. Athletico go out eventually. 

 

It's a shower isn't it? I was all for it, but I'm aware that now the genie is out of the bottle it's as bad if not worse now.
